Watched a classic Christmas movie with kids tonight. It's got everything; snow, cute creatures, tension, drama, romance, and a musical interlude. For some reason, it's never in lists of best Christmas movies. If there's a place for Die Hard, there should be a place for Gremlins.

It's rained all afternoon. Cat hasn't wanted to go out but braved it when the spare human came home. Came in very wet. Also had a fresh scratch on his nose and was muddy, so he's had to be bathed. It's a 2 person job and about as awful as you'd expect despite him being a big softie.

Day 2 of school holidays. Busy day in London so relaxing today. Woken at 8am by teen who wants to book a backstage tour. Love that she loved play yesterday, but it could have waited an hour or two.

Took 14 year old daughter to see #TwelfthNight at the #BarbicanCentre yesterday. She absolutely loved it and is angling for a return visit! She's hearing impaired and the captions made a massive difference. I don't understand why more shows aren't captioned as it's so helpful.

Whilst I have complained about my child using my Spotify account, it does bring moments of joy. Knowing she is listening on her way home from school, I've added Never Gonna Give You Up to her play queue and turned off shuffle. Picturing her little scowl as Rick Astley appears in her ears...

At a MSE hospital waiting for paediatric day surgery, an appointment we've waited 14 months for, after the consultant said the waiting list was 5 months. Been here since 7:30 and waited 5 hours so far. Got to be a better way of doing this.

Where are all the #education and #reading people? I'm looking for a version of Homer's Odyssey suitable for a confident 10 year old reader. Seen books aimed at very young children but nothing for younger teens. #books #Homer

Kids are off to Scout camp tomorrow, which means tonight we've spent time discovering which essential items they've got missing, followed by writing a bad dad joke for them to read each day they're away.

Having fun playing with AI to create a wallpaper on laptop. In some ways, it's really clever, but it's rubbish at counting.

I've brought my teen daughter and a couple of friends roller skating. Got a bit of a youth club vibe. DJ is loud but the teens are all enjoying themselves. Pleasantly surprised.
