My 'eye' for spotting AI is perhaps getting worse but it doesn't look to me like every panel is GenAI but it's definitely in some.

I would rather see five hundred pieces of reused art than one piece of GenAI. It's so simple: just please don't do it.

(From what I can find, the main use of GenAI is limited to some panels of 'hand drawn' background art. If it's more widespread/insidious than that then obviously I'll change my calculus.)

The Anno team were/are a really great example of transparency, communication and inclusion. One of the coolest game communities I've encountered.
Feels absolutely baffling to me to even risk damaging that kind of hard-won capital.

It's getting harder to avoid this stuff now. I managed to pinpoint exactly what Anno used GenAI for and it's not rampant. But nevertheless it still utterly blows.

It's generative AI. Specifically it seems to be isolated to (limited to?) a few concept art-style backgrounds throughout the game's story moments.
