Skirting Venezuelan airspace and the US NOTAM.
November 24, 2025 at 8:54 AM
FORTE10, 11-2046 RQ-4 Global Hawk back on the job out of Sicily. This time straight to the Black Sea and then along the Moldova border with Romania and presumably back up to Kaliningrad and the Baltic states.

OK, Google's Nano Banana 3 is seriously good. Prompt: "create a simple infographic detailing steps to find a lost phone" (for a column I'm writing). Out came this 5 meg product. Now to try this in Grok.

Back for a chat with the boss about those 28 points?

More lovely captures from METEOR M-N2-4 this afternoon, from a pass nearly directly overhead for Metro Vancouver. TV rabbit ears antenna, @Nooelec LNA and SDR.
November 24, 2025 at 3:44 AM
Here we see an American Airlines flight just skirting Venezuelan airspace, and a Brazilian BD-700 over the country's heartland.
November 24, 2025 at 3:28 AM
Again, no trackable aircraft traffic over Venezuela, at 0300z. Note LV-KHT, an Aerolineas Argentinas Airbus A330-200, diverting around Venezuelan airspace, taking note of the US NOTAM for the region.
November 24, 2025 at 3:09 AM
Just one aircraft over Venezuela showing on trackers this afternoon. Snapshot at 0020z. American NOTAM has effectively shut down commercial carriers from outside the country.

Today's lovely "blue marble" shot of the eastern Pacific, as received and processed with my own ground station in Vancouver via 1.7 GHz radio signal from GOES-18 at 137 W. Taken at 2030 UTC / 12:30 PM PST, around solar noon for the satellite.

South Africa via FT8 on 12, 17, 30 m bands over the past 24 h. Monitoring with an MLA-30+ loop antenna connected to an SDR monitoring 16 frequencies from 10 to 160 m. QTH: Vancouver.

Well, it didn't create a video, but Nano Banana 3 came up with this, from a very simple prompt.

What a beauty! Captured via 137 mHz radio signal from Russian weather satellite METEOR M-N2-4 at 10 AM, from a pass a little E of Metro Vancouver. Check out the detail for the Coast Mountain Range, and The Rockies.

Here in Poco.

Other than a USAF supply Hercules nearing Ireland, and a British UAV out of Cypus, not another trackable military aircraft to be seen over Europe at 0200z early Sunday morning.
November 23, 2025 at 2:09 AM
Britain sends one of its MQ-9 Reaper UAV craft aloft out of Cyprus at 0200z. Heading in the general direction of Israel/Gaza.
November 23, 2025 at 2:05 AM
FORTE10 back from its circum-Europe tour at 50k+ feet, keeping an eye/ear on Kaliningrad, and then on the Latvian, Polish, and Romanian border areas. Let's see if it heads out again as the Tr^mp-Putin initiative seems to be dying on the vine as it were.

Relatively quiet day for aircraft tracking. First day in five to see 24-hour count drop back below a thousand, with half an hour to go in the tracking day (ends at 4 PM PST / 2400 UTC). Tracking in Vancouver with gear from @FlightAwareADSB using a 1.5 m collinear antenna.
November 22, 2025 at 11:34 PM
Lots of minor space weather "rattling" over the past 25 hour or so. Bz has has numerous rapid fluctuations, mainly within the +/- 6 range. Snapshots here from HamClock at ~2325 UTC / 3:25 PM PST here in Vancouver.
November 22, 2025 at 11:27 PM
WSPR.rocks mapping of 24 hours of WSPR transmissions at 200 milliwatts, rotating through 17, 20, 30 m bands. Using two pieces of speaker hookup wiring fashioned roughly as a 20 m dipole oriented N-S.

Today's "blue marble" shot from GOES-18. As received and processed via 1.7 GHz radio signal with my fround station here in Vancouver. At 2030 UTC / 12:30 PM PST. Around this time the disk is at maximum illumination, at the satellite's solar noon. Vancouver upper right, New Zealand at lower left.

Two crops from the 2030 UTC / 1230 PM PST full disk shot from GOES-18, highlighting the rain event for PNW/SWBC/Metro Vancouver this afternoon. Note the interesting structure of the rainmaker and how part of it sweeps all the way back to Baja MX. Received with my own 1.7 GHz ground station.

Wonder what the crew of this Egyptian military Gulfstream was doing in Lincoln NB.

About that US-issued NOTAM regarding Venezuelan air space... here's at least a little traffic as seen at 2100z this Saturday afternoon. That's 5 PM in Caracas.
November 22, 2025 at 9:12 PM
Rain! Bit of an atmospheric river impacting SW BC, Metro Vancouver this morning. Here's a shot I just pulled in from Russian weather satellite METEOR MN2-3 when it passed a little to the W around 10:15 AM. Received via 137 MHz radio signal and TV rabbit ears antenna.
November 22, 2025 at 7:42 PM
No #HAARP signals for me yet this evening. Supposedly transmissions run 0400 - 1100 UTC(8 PM - 3 AM for me here in Vancouver). Here are the authorized frequencies for HAARP.
