UPDATE: Basel Adra, co-director of Oscar-winning documentary “No Other Land,” says co-director Hamdan Ballal is receiving treatment in the hospital after being beaten by Israeli settlers, and then Israeli soldiers.

Soldiers “left him blindfolded and handcuffed” at a base last night.

An eye witness account of the arrest of Hamdan Ballal, Palestinian co-director of the Oscar-winning “No Other Land”, after *he* was attacked by Israeli ‘settlers’.
And lots on the USA’s security breach - as the lies become more blatant, so what’s left of accountability withers.

Lucidity is stored in the balls
18th century Scottish bard John Armstrong anonymously published The Oeconomy of Love, a poetic sex manual, where one may read of ‘turgid cells’ spontaneously ‘disembog[uing] their ‘lucid store, /bland and of azure tinct.’ Racy stuff.

Precisely my expectation:

1. Decimate the ranger personnel.
2. Watch the national parks deteriorate.
3. Declare only privatization can save them.
4. Put hand-picked companies in charge, which will
5. Start selling off land and mineral rights to "save" the parks.

The raid on the Jerusalem Educational Bookstore and arrest of its workers/owners, Mahmoud and Ahmad Muna, is outrageous. It is the only bookstore specializing in issues of Palestine, Israel, and Jerusalem. It is an iconic store that preserves what little is left of Palestinian culture in the city.

But when it comes to cutting aid budgets no one says “let’s spend less money on Israeli or Egyptian military capacity”. Instead you want to start by taking healthcare and education away from people who have been made vulnerable by the structural injustices you create and benefit from.

I can't stop thinking about the totality of this - the very definition of genocide. Culture, homes, infrastructure, society, history - as well as lives, all destroyed, all in full view of the world
Every educational, academic, and cultural institution in Gaza where I studied, worked, or attended a conference or event—every theater, every archive, every historic landmark and site—has been completely destroyed. They no longer exist.
