This is a far-too-often overlooked yet definitive aspect of fascism: that they are frauds, and only use the ideals they purport to represent -strength, purity, law, order, etc.- in a dishonest, cynical, and self-serving way to establish rule by crime.

Exposing absolutely blatant and incontrovertible Republican fascism didn’t work turn off “independent” voters during the last election—which included Nazi talk on a daily basis—and it didn’t work to turn them off over recent decades. I’m skeptical that it will start working that way now.

I sort of feel like fascists were already defeated in the marketplace of ideas called WWII. If we keep having to go over this then what's the point of winning?

It's not just budgets but research, institutions, expertise, and training the next generation.
