The MHA has better safeguards even when just detaining someone in hospital for 28 days. This is about ending someone life at their request. 😳
As a doctor of 40 years I do not believe that 2 doctors choosing each other is a safe option. At all. Clinical ethics committee would be much safer.

As for sign off by two doctors - I have seen some legitimate criticism that the second independent doctor is chosen by the first. Again, that is something that could be changed/improved by way of amendment.
