Is this Transit Security car part of what CHYM is paying for? It's rolling alongside my bus like an escort.
Omg what if buses got flashing light escorts to get through traffic? Like they do for ambassadors and such. Working people who choose not to contribute to traffic are basically VIPs!

A PSA campaign isn't a bad thing. I agree with the messages. They just haven't been shown to work.
I think our limited funds are better spent on physical infrastructure—concrete and steel—that have been proven to increase safety and improve driver behavior.

A PSA campaign isn't a bad thing. I agree with the messages. They just haven't been shown to work.

The only kinds of PSAs that actually work are ones directed at young children (who haven't solidified their habits yet) and campaigns that are coupled with another intervention, such as stepped-up enforcement, or preferably, new and safer road designs.

The results are even worse for short-term campaigns, which is what most agencies have a budget for. A transportation agency can spend a hundreds of thousands of dollars and only reach a sliver of the population, and but those viewers aren't likely to change their behaviors.

We've all seen the PSAs on TV about drunk driving or distracted driving, safety agencies run them all the time. But do they work? The National Cooperative Highway Research Program found that they don't work, particularly when we already know what we are supposed to do.

My bus stop still doesn't have a shelter or a place to sit, but it now has a button-activated light so the bus drivers can see me in the dark!
I know it's a little thing, but small improvements to service add up to a better experience. 👍

I visited Alyssa's ghost bike this morning, it's been a year since the off-duty Knoxville PD officer killed her. TDOT has made no change to Highway 100, although I heard they are studying the corridor. But 100 is still massively overbuilt and dangerous.

My first experience at a bus stop with a new bench from To Nashville With Love, and it was great! This stop has needed one for a long time, and it was really nice to be able to rest for a moment.

I can't believe Maná has never performed in Nashville before, but I'm glad I got to be there. It was a great show, they boys still sound great!

I picked a terrible day to have a series of appointments along West End. This was comical before long. And it really revealed how one accident can scramble traffic all over town.

Weekend bus service really needs more frequency, though. Almost a 2 hour wait for the next 3B is brutal.
