There is zero reason not to lift the cap. Completely regressive tax.

My ex made way more than I did at one point & around May of each year his paycheck went up because he met his SS ceiling. He then had that extra income to invest, etc.. Proportionally I ended up paying more of my paycheck & had less to invest. This system is titled towards the rich at every turn.
