The big difference between Trump's first term and second is that he didn't burn down a strong economy with tariffs last time around. It's a lot easier for voters to overlook his bigoted nonsense and authoritarian bluster when they feel good about material conditions.

Trump continues to fuck over vulnerable House Republicans by insisting the economy is “doing great” while families drown in rent, food, and gas costs.

That’s why Republicans lost Tuesday - and why they’ll lose the midterms.

The result was “institutionalized hunger.”

One of the biggest upsets on Tuesday: Aurora, one of Colorado's largest and more conservative-leaning cities, has swung to progressives.

The conservative mayor, Mike Coffman (who you may recall from his time in Congress), says he is 'stunned.'
