Good news! The EU reduced CO2 emissions by 5.3% in Q2 2023 compared to Q2 2022.

Emissions dropped in 6/9 sectors. Electricity & gas declined the most (-22%), while transportation rose the most (+1.7%).

Decline in 21/27 EU countries, led by Bulgaria (-23.7%), Estonia (-23.1%), Netherlands (-10.3%).

Listening to Politico's last EU Confidential podcast episode on the Polish election results. I had heard the "exit Poles" joke, but not yet the one about opposition parties being in the "Pole position". I'm sure someone also thought about the deep polarisation in two opposed Poles.
