Waiving some small historical debts and providing compensation for illegal income apportionment is welcome, but it's just scratching the surface.
The govt needs to implement the Robodebt Royal Commission recommendations now and get to work on creating a social security system that lifts us all up.

Our social services system degrades people and grinds them down, and keeps everyone who has a job scared and compliant. It needs to be rebuilt.

This is a tremendous win for the Greens and for advocates who have been pushing Labor to waive these income apportionment debts and protect people living in poverty from serious harm.
