Bring back Kilmar Abrego García... NOW.

🧵(1 of 6)
The Constitutional crisis all Americans fear is here. A battle between the executive and judicial branches is underway.

The Trump regime defiantly refused to meet another court-issued deadline in the case of Kilmar Abrego García.

Dismissed was a federal judge’s deadline to disclose steps…

It’s almost as if USAID was a pillar of American soft power and influence in the world

It’s almost as if it was entirely predictable that America’s adversaries would work to fill the void left by USAID’s destruction

Shady AF!

Republicans could’ve stopped Trump’s disastrous trade policy & save the economy, but they protected him instead.

Trump declared a “economic emergency” to push reckless tariffs. Dems tried to force a vote to end it, so the GOP pulled a stunt to block it: declaring Congress one long day.

The House just voted that “each day for the remainder of the 119th Congress shall not constitute a calendar day for purposes of section 202 of the National Emergencies Act.” A day is not a day. Lewis Carroll, George Orwell, and Franz Kafka must all be chuckling — or weeping.

One of the disturbing reactions to the Mahmoud Khalil arrest is people making things up that he did to justify it that even the Trump admin doesn't claim he did. People just see him as the *type* of person who did the things they're mad about, so punishing him for it is acceptable. Lynching logic.

The CR's effect on DC is a five alarm fire.

By treating the DC as a federal agency & compelling the city to return to 2024 spending,

Congress is mandating that DC cut its budget--*its own tax dollars*--by almost 20%.

None of this $ will be refunded to the fed gov; it was never theirs.

INBOX: Georgia Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock on closure of the OEA: "Because this administration sees anything as resembling diversity as a threat, they are gutting an institution that is meant to protect those who put their lives on the line in defense of our freedoms."
And @vernalcoleman.bsky.social's latest shows the cost of closing a key VA office.

"It’s a first step toward gutting the second-largest agency in our federal government," says the co-founder of the Black Veterans Project.

The Office That Investigates Disparities in Veterans’ Care Is Being “Liquidated”
The closure effectively hobbles the VA’s efforts to investigate and eliminate long-standing racial inequities that the department itself has acknowledged. “The consequences will be dire, wide-reaching...

This is a BFD on its own right, but there's been a great deal of evidence that DOGE has been assuming it could evade FOIA and so sloppy about following obligations that FOIA may now give cause to enforce.
NEWS: A federal judge has ordered the urgent release of DOGE records, citing the office's "unprecedented" power and "unusual secrecy."

Judge Cooper wants "rolling" productions of records to begin within weeks. Details TK
