Impact of clinician feedback reports on antibiotic use in children hospitalized with community-acquired pneumonia
Feedback reports summarizing clinician performance are effective tools for improving antibiotic use in the ambulatory setting, but the effectiveness of feedback reports in the hospital setting is unknown.

#ASHKudos to Rachel Rau, Sumit Gupta, the whole AALL1731 study committee, all of our COG sites, and most importantly, our patients and families who made these results possible. So exciting to officially see these results on the big stage at #ASH24 (and presented by a great mentor too!)

I never tire of seeing these progressively improved pediatric ALL survival curves, which represent one of the most remarkable achievements in all of medicine.

Amazing to see even more improvement with bispecific antibody #immunotherapy presented in the #ASH24 Plenary session. #hematology #leukemia

Facts.

One reason this is particularly true is kids can’t vote and the people who are supposed to vote on their behalf, don’t.
Graph these by salary and you’ll get the same results. Pediatricians get paid less because our society doesn’t value children, and particularly sick disabled children. And as pediatricians we have accepted a system where we are devalued because we advocate for our patients instead of ourselves.

Scientists, academics, researchers: We’re excited to share that @altmetric.com is now tracking mentions of your research on Bluesky! 🧪
There are already many articles for which there is more attention on Bluesky than on other comparable micro-blogging sites, meaning the academic community and the general public have clearly adopted Bluesky as one of its core places to disseminate and discuss new research.

Bactericidal antibiotics release DNA that activates TLR9, while static antibiotics do not, and this excessive inflammation can blunt efficacy.

Fascinating study!

#IDSky, is there a good study that shows development of a MDR organism for a patient results in worse outcome?

Obviously would need to control for a lot of confounders but wondering if someone has attempted and somewhat succeeded.
