Sometimes I leave out a basket of laundry as a visual cue to do it but then I leave it so long it just becomes part of the landscape so I have to hide it from myself for a while so when I find it in the bottom of the closet a week later I'll remember.

Imagine the world is full of locked doors. The vast majority of people have keys that can open many of them. But your key doesn’t seem to work, except for doors that are generally boarded up.

That’s my ADHD experience. Others block doors my key fits.

Been working with teens excluded from school. All have #SEND (most commonly ASD/ADHD/DLD) but were either diagnosed too late or not even assessed until after they were excluded. It’s heartbreaking

I think one of the worst things about being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, is realizing the perceived laziness, selective hearing, forgetfulness, boredom, or lack of motivation etc. was really your brain struggling to function in a world that doesn't accommodate the neurodivergent, and not...

Growing up w/ untreated ADHD is absolutely a complex traumatic stressor-- meaning people who are finally, correctly diagnosed w/ ADHD in adulthood very often have to learn trauma recovery skills & tools as well.

Luckily, everything you do to recover from trauma supports managing ADHD, too.

It’s going to be very important for those of us with ADHD to be thoughtful about how we consume news and use our devices. Negative rumination is a pretty common problem for ADHD folks because it still is brain stimulation.
