A commission done for someone's (@bryn9995 on Discord) Lord of the Rings Online character with my OC, Arlodrir. Her character is a white woman with dark hair, wearing a plain tan dress and a big smile. My character is an older Dwarf, wearing a maroon jacket and eyepatch. They are holding hands and in a warm home, appearing like they are about to dance with each other. A sketchy, "unfinished" height chart done of my D&D party. There is Nari, a warlock in black and red. She has a raven familiar perched on her arm. Then Aanlaya, a sorcerer with golden hair and a pink dress, standing next to her monstrosity pet cat. Next is Rennah, a tiefling paladin with red skin and a blue tunic. Spark is a tiefling artificer with grey skin and smudged clothes, and she is standing next to Spring, a mechanical goat that she created. Then there is Lucky, a monk with loose earthy clothes and a gourd on his hip. Lastly is my character Vôtra, a Dwarf fighter with brown curly hair, and her pet frog is on the ground next to her. Each party member has a warm smile and seems to be posing for the lineup. A portrait of my Lord of the Rings Online character, Maddoct. Day 52: The Artistic Process™️

I can feel myself going insane
A 4-panel comic drawn in pen with inkwash shading. The panels are equal in size, are stacked vertically, and are wide and rectangular. Panels 1-3 show the same view of me sitting at my drafting desk working on a comic, doing the different stages (pencil, inks, erasing lines) and the fourth panel is looking over my shoulder at a finished comic. In panel 1 I'm stooped over with my head resting on one hand while the other pencils out the comic, and the thought bubbles surrounding my head say "I can't believe we're all just sitting here adn watching this happen... half the country doesn't even know or care... god damnit." In panel 2 I'm inking with a sable brush, with thought bubbles that say "What's going to happen to the immigrant families here... what about our schools... they're trying to criminalize librarians. And cut the whole health department. Jesus christ." In Panel 3 I'm erasing pencil lines on the finished comic, and the thought bubbles around me say "Now he's going to privatize the USPS. Or dismantle it. Will my spouse have a job in a few months? What are rural communities supposed to do? Fuck." Panel 4 shows the finished comic I was working on: a single panel with a top caption saying "When my cats get into the cheese puffs, lol" above a drawing of my cats farting comically (Egg Noodle's fart is blasting him into space). I'm looking at my creation and saying "Yeah that'll do it." Beneath the comic is my signature (Kat Baumann), today's date (2-21-2025) and the time I spent drawing this (50 minutes)

Cait takes off her glasses and rubs her eyes, the news alerts are louder and more frightening Panel 2: "I'm drawing pretty pictures while the world is on fire. While families are torn apart. While war and genocide become daily news. While my country is held hostage by bigots who want me and the people I love to die." Cait holds her head in her hands, overwhelmed by pinging alerts Panel 1: "But I can't think that way. ...not every day, at least..." Cait balls her fists, grimacing with tears on her face Panel 2: "I love what I do. And I work in entertainment - providing beauty and escapism for my audience." She puts her glasses back on and picks up her tablet pen, sniffling Panel 1: "We need art in turbulent times. People need escape from the horrors. And if I can provide that - then I'm being helpful." Cait starts drawing, but the pinging alerts are on the rise again. Panel 2: "I'm being helpful. I'm being helpful... I'm being helpful... I'm helpful... Helpful..." She draws, trembling, as the alerts swell around her.

A black and white sketch of my Dwarf OC Vôtra's armor set. She has spring-powered boots, and her elbow and knee guards have matching octagonal designs. The armor has heavy pauldrons, and the faulds connect to the cuirass with braided leather. She is holding two warhammers, one of which has a serious face; her expression is serious to match. Her beard has three braids in it and is tied with a band, and her fluffy hair, which has a flower in it, is pulled into one large braid which is windblown behind her.

A commission done for someone's (@bryn9995 on Discord) Lord of the Rings Online character with my OC, Arlodrir. Her character is a white woman with dark hair, wearing a plain tan dress and a big smile. My character is an older Dwarf, wearing a maroon jacket and eyepatch. They are holding hands and in a warm home, appearing like they are about to dance with each other. A sketchy, "unfinished" height chart done of my D&D party. There is Nari, a warlock in black and red. She has a raven familiar perched on her arm. Then Aanlaya, a sorcerer with golden hair and a pink dress, standing next to her monstrosity pet cat. Next is Rennah, a tiefling paladin with red skin and a blue tunic. Spark is a tiefling artificer with grey skin and smudged clothes, and she is standing next to Spring, a mechanical goat that she created. Then there is Lucky, a monk with loose earthy clothes and a gourd on his hip. Lastly is my character Vôtra, a Dwarf fighter with brown curly hair, and her pet frog is on the ground next to her.
