Parenting whiplash of the day: yesterday I was the best mom in the world because I bought my kid bubble gum at the grocery store. Today I’m “the worst person in the history of people” because we’ve had enough screen time for the day and the next door neighbor isn’t available to play.

I process travel reimbursements at work and I am absolutely judging my co-workers who tip less than 20%. You are going to get reimbursed! It’s not even your money!

Hey podcasts! Could you not have advertisements for intentional weight loss? I’ve managed to report the ads on my social media feeds enough that I don’t see them much. But I don’t want to hear about ozempic on my history podcasts.

I have some complicated feelings about this whole dismantling of USAID. My grandfather worked for them in the 60s and my mom spent a good chunk of her childhood in Ghana and Tanzania. From the stories I’ve heard it really seems like a colonialist project. 1/2

There is an active coup happening by Elon Musk and I just got a text asking for money to “flip the house.” Is the house going to even exist in two years? Democrats are absolutely failing us.

Got a new car yesterday, while we were signing paperwork the dealer asked us what was the likelihood we’d buy a car “like a Tesla” in the next five years. Oh absolutely not. “I mean a plug in electric.” Oh yeah, we already own one.

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.
Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO
