As tech firms keep adding the largest and most compute-intensive AI models into more and more aspects of our digital lives, they are increasingly dependent on a growing share of existing energy and natural resources, leading to rising costs for everyone else, write Sasha Luccioni and Yacine Jernite.

I read Spell Freedom recently. It's about Septima Clark, a South Carolina teacher who taught literacy and citizenship lessons to Black people in the pre-Civil-Rights era so that they could vote.

Gale Galligan is a gem. I’ve loved reading the Babysitters’ Club adaptations they’ve drawn as well as their first original work “Freestyle”. In “Fresh Start” we follow the growth of the perpetually transplanted Ollie finally setting to root.

Ew. I’m grossed out to have Ms. Luna as my local representative. She ran on “make Pinellas affordable” and she’s done mostly stunt bills like this. Her only successful legislation was renaming a post office.

Shoutout to the birds nested in the counters of the P, R’s, and A’s of “DRIVE-THRU PHARMACY” at Walgreens. You’re cute.

First up is Keiichi Arawai’s “City”. It’s a gag manga with a unique artistic style that has grown on me. The visual storytelling, pacing, and character development make this an eccentric read. An ensemble cast of characters all with quirks weave in and out of each other’s lives. LOL worthy.

Here’s a little secret; I read a lot of comics. Not comics per se but graphic novels, trade paperbacks, and manga from our local libraries. Some I select for myself, some for my kids, and some they pick. I’d like to share some with you. Stay tuned.
