Ah, so they are like an old dog, who you can't teach new tricks to? Still, that's not a good place to be. We need to be lifelong students and have a learning spirit.

So the don't want to improve their skills in their own field?

When you post residential speed limits on roads that look like highways, you cannot act surprised when society normalizes speeding.

Same goes for putting stop signs at every corner regardless of sightlines.

If it feels unreasonable to obey a law, it will always become normalized to break that law.

My question is, why do they say this? Don't they want to provide more service? Are they trying to excuse their incompetence?
November 30, 2025 at 5:25 AM
Oh, I see. I agree with you.
November 30, 2025 at 5:17 AM
Yes, that's uncalled for.

100% the density around higher order transit locations needs to massively increase density. Back in the day I hated Ron Moeser because he blocked every attempt to increase density near rouge hill.

I'm not anti-Go by the way, I'm just saying many people do not use it due to barriers

This is qhy physical infrastructure to control traffic speeds is the most ideal solution.

Yes, exactly! bi-level carriages are no good fit frequent stops like how the double decker buses in London aren't ideal for frequent spots.
November 28, 2025 at 12:38 PM
Exactly my thoughts. Longer trips, like those of NS with their intercity trains, which are typically bi-level carriages, would be beneficial.

They shouldn't have been spooked and accepted the change but yes, maybe DB could have done more incremental steps to get to their larger goal.
November 28, 2025 at 12:34 PM
Exactly. It's stupid. Who cares what their neighbours think on this minor increase housing. The zoning allows it, build it.

And if a fourplex burns down and gets replaced with a one unit mansion, no public meeting needed. Classism that calls itself “local democracy”.
November 28, 2025 at 2:08 AM
What do you mean by that? Do you mean that if people's vision of the bi-level train includes the current carriages, then their vision is wrong or misguided?

If so, I agree. Bi-level carriages sound good for intercity service but not for 15-minute train station service that GO wants in the GTHA.

What was DB suggesting? Or are you saying their full takeover was a problem in itself?
June 27, 2025 at 9:34 AM
You're not wrong there. What are you suggesting? 🙂
