I counted up all the hours I want to do all my hobbies, added my sleep, my work, exercising, ect., and got 216 hours a week. I think that's doable.

Baker and Taylor going out of business is a huge blow to libraries in the states. I'm concerned that the days of discounted books and services for libraries are in danger. I'm also scared that the big5 will keep shorting their shipments to distributers, forcing libraries to order from Amazon more.

I have successfully used the muted words feature to filter out politics and now my feed is actually about books. Not saying what people were posting wasn’t important, I just would like to use bluesky as a place I hear about stories and books.

I’ve been working my way through The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley and enjoying it. Im waiting for it to go off the rails soon.

I also played over the weekend this Avatar game called Avatar: The Last Airbender – Fire Nation Rising. Super fun dice throwing co-op game. I played as Toph. It was a tough game, and we lost, but I always like the challenge of difficult co-ops.

I played The Lord of the Rings: Fate of the Fellowship board game last night and highly recommend it. It’s a pandemic style game where each player controls two characters from the books and you have objectives before you can toss the ring into Mt Doom. A lot of fun.

Finished up Queer Windows volume 1 Spring by Cay Fletcher and I loved these unassuming stories of love with fantasy bends. It felt like sitting in a meadow and watching bees. The little physical book is amazing and beautiful, but you can get the kindle version for like .99.

Three episodes into Andor and am super impressed. They really hit the tone of the show perfectly and the focus on individuals is a welcomed change from other Star Wars media I’ve consumed.

I read the second story from Cay Fletcher’s, Queer Windows Volune 1 Spring, “Rosemary for Remembrance,” and I loved this little quote.

I decided to watch the last few episodes of Only Murders in the Building and a couple YouTube videos during my possible reading time today. Looking back on it, I could have done both, and have read at least some. Good day playing board games and D&D though.

Starting this lovely little book of short stories I got at Worldcon from Cay Fletcher. I read for 30min and loved “The Wizard’s Garden.” Grumpy garden center clerk helps a wizard with his dust mite problem in his magical gardens. Such a happy and cute story. Much better use of 30min than scrolling.

I had the opportunity to read for about 45 minutes yesterday. I finished up Naruto 61 from the library. I’m finally beyond where I’ve watched in the anime. I played d&d last night, and I have it again tonight, and tomorrow. Hoping to get an hour of reading in this morning after a walk, before work.

Well, I had good intentions today, but I didn’t get a chance to read much. Maybe 15 minutes of a manga. I’ll do better tomorrow.

I’m going to try posting once a day about what I read and how much I read that day. This is my attempt to be more accountable with my reading and maybe transition into making book content again.

The SFF community loves to point out others flaws as a way to boost their own visibility. Yes, the Hugo runners could have done better and hopefully future ceremony officials learn, but focus on the future and the change needed, not the dog piling.

I really enjoyed the flash fiction in “The Sky Didn’t Load Today and Other Glitches” by Rich Larson. There are 30 flash fiction stories under 1000 words. Perfect to carry around with you while traveling/vacationing to read a quick story while waiting in a line.

Good trip to Seattle. The venue for Worldcon was one of my favorites. Great design and openness. Really happy with the Hugo results. Enjoyed the Blood on the Clocktower I played while in Seattle. Highly recommend the Pop culture museum, Chihuly Glass Museum, and visiting Pike Market.
