The President of the United States just called for Democratic members of Congress to be executed. "HANG THEM", he posted.

If you're a person of influence in this country and you haven't picked a side, maybe now would be the time to pick a fucking side.

I think Americans are realizing that democracy is a participation sport, and the the government is ours if we want it to be. I feel like we got complacent and hoped some other third party would do the work for us. Seems like we have to learn that lesson every generation.

I’ll keep pushing this line of analysis because I’m increasingly convinced the clearest path out of this mess is for Dems to adopt a relentless anti-corruption, anti-inequality, anti-oligarchy, pro-democracy platform. The Dem leadership hasn’t realized it yet, but they’re now a reform party.

This is a U.S. citizen being brutally abducted by ICE while his mom pleads for them to stop and the videographer cries for help. The Chicago police do nothing to stop it.

They will come for everyone, and they’re not even hiding that anymore. If you are not organizing and resisting yet, get started.

I'm at the scene where ICE abducted multiple people from Lincoln and Foster this morning.

A WGN producer was among the people taken, allegedly because she was among a group of bystanders who tried to intervene. ICE agents hit this car while making their getaway.

trump is a crook.

maybe the message is as simple as that?
"This guy wants to do bad things to the country overall. You can't believe what he says, you can't believe his promises. He's dangerous and he's nuts. And that transcends all of these individual issues."

Not a bad reason to shut it down.

People of Illinois, we need your help.

Get your cell phones out – record what you see. Put it on social media. Peacefully ask for badge numbers and identification. Speak up for your neighbors.

We need to let the world know this is happening – and that we won’t stand for it.

In the last 6 hours, Trump has imposed:

- A 100% tariff on medicine unless its producer starts building a new U.S. factory in the next 5 days
- A 50% tariff on kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities
- A 30% tariff on upholstered furniture
- A 25% tariff on “Heavy (Big!) Trucks”

It’s happening. The takedown of Jimmy Kimmel is likely the start of a campaign to use the murder of Charlie Kirk as a pretext to use the power of the White House to wipe out Trump’s critics and his political opponents.

But we aren’t powerless. We can mobilize and organize. Now.

this is huge:

states have the power to limit political contributions of corporations, without overturning citizens united.

as with auto emissions, california alone would be enough to set a new de facto corporate standard.
Fifteen years after Citizens United opened the floodgates of corporate and dark political money, the Center for American Progress has figured out how to slam them back shut.

CAP published its groundbreaking how-to report today: "The Corporate Power Reset That Makes Citizens United Irrelevant."
The Corporate Power Reset That Makes Citizens United Irrelevant
By using their authority to define what corporations are—and what powers they hold—states can end the era of corporate and dark money in U.S. politics.

so bizarre to see a sitting u.s. president gabbing with morning news show hosts live in studio, especially in times like these.
Trump claims Charlie Kirk's shooter is in custody: "Can I always say I think just to protect us all and so Fox doesn't get sued and we all don't get sued and everything else but I think with a high degree of certainty, we have him in custody."

this rings true—it appears our institutions aren’t going to save us this time.

*but* when we the people truly show up to stop him, it emboldens institutions to do the same.

in theory, once we the people push back enough, trump will become a pariah, as will those who enabled his lawless regime.
