The leader isn't Labour's problem

Their problem is that people elected them to reverse the damage done by the Tories

Whereas they just carried on doing more damage

They need to tax wealth and invest in public services

And challenge the oligarchs dominating our economy

And focus on fairness

Race to the bottom.

UK banks push for easing of capital adequacy rules. They want deregulation and lower capital requirements to compete with shadow banks which are unregulated.

This will end in tears. Public purse will bear the cost. All avoidable. Will any govt resist the City?

The energy bill write off con.

Fuel poverty rising, debt £4.4bn. Ofgem says £500m could be written off.

It would be added to the bills of other customers. Energy companies made £514bn operating profit since 2020.

No cut in their profit. Debt would be rebuilt

Nationalise energy. End profiteering
Thousands on benefits could have energy debt cancelled by Ofgem
Regulator Ofgem plans to cut £500m from the stack of customer debt - but other billpayers will cover the cost.

We can find suitable land with sunlight, water, and nutrients to grow plants, wait years to harvest the biomass and burn it for energy, hope to capture the CO₂ with carbon capture and storage technology, and find a suitable spot to bury the CO₂ permanently.

OR we can use solar panels.

Just fuck off with this. How about start the conversation by highlighting how much immigrants contribute to the UK - not least by propping up the NHS and social care system!

Also - forced volunteering is not volunteering, it's unpaid labour.

MAJOR UPDATE: Seven of nine planetary boundaries now breached – ocean acidification also in the danger zone.
