Good Luck to the Danish Social Liberal Party (Radikale Venstre) in today’s regional and municipal elections in Denmark!

It's becoming increasingly difficult to tell the difference between Labour and Reform UK, especially on immigration and asylum.

For the far-right to advance, cruelty and inhumanity need to become normalised.

That is what Labour is doing with it's draconian immigration reforms. Shame on them! 🥀🥀🥀

What is fascinating about Reform UK voters in comparison to the voters of other parties is that they are much more inclined to believe in conspiracies and anti-science narratives.

For example, 1 in 3 Reform voters believe that the COVID vaccine is not safe, despite all the evidence to the contrary.

The best of luck to Zohran Mamdani today in the New York Mayoral Election!!!

💙🗳️🗽🇺🇸

If I had a vote in tomorrow’s New York Mayoral Election, I would proudly vote for Zohran Mamdani!

He has led a passionate, positive and progressive campaign to improve the living standards of ordinary New Yorkers.

The Democratic Party needs more national, statewide and local leaders like him! 💙🗳️🗽🇺🇸

Rob Jetten has run a campaign focused on hope and positivity. There’s a lesson here for all politicians. Hope and positivity is the antidote to the far-right not fear and negativity. Now Jetten (if he becomes PM) needs to deliver a just society if the Dutch far-right is to be truly vanquished. 💚🗳️🇳🇱🇪🇺

If I had a vote in today’s Dutch General Election, I would vote for Democrats 66. They are the closest thing the Netherlands has to a major social liberal party. D66 has run an impressive campaign focusing on affordable green energy and education and have latterly surged in the opinion polls. 💚🗳️🇳🇱🇪🇺

What’s “Fecked” is that The Sun was silent when hundreds of peaceful Palestine Action protestors were arrested in London.
1. Potential hate crimes should be investigated.
2. Arresting Linehan with five armed police was incredibly heavy-handed.
3. Libertarians choose the worst “free speech” martyrs.

This image encapsulates British politics right now.

Right-wing millionaires (namely Nigel Farage) trying to persuade white working class people that poor black and brown asylum seekers are their enemies and not the right-wing plutocrats that hoard wealth.

This picture reminds me of this cartoon from 1939, the last time a fascist leader and the leader of Russia sought to carve up an Eastern European country…

A close friend of mine came to the UK as a university student to escape the horrific homophobic oppression he was facing in his home country. He successfully claimed asylum here.

This government’s blatantly illiberal, cruel and inhumane approach to asylum seekers sickens me! Shame on Labour! 🥀

The reality of Israel’s genocide in Gaza on the front page of today’s Guardian. Israel’s genocidal man-made famine in Gaza must be stopped. The world must act now!

With the ownership of the water industry in the news, I have created a triangle diagram to help explain the three primary models of ownership.

So much attention focuses on the false dichotomy between privatisation and nationalisation. We need to recall that mutualisation is an alternative to both.

If progressives want to destroy Nigel Farage, they just have to point out that he’s Trump’s Puppet!

From supporting the US bombing Iran, to attacking DEI, to climate scepticism, to wanting a British DOGE, Farage and Reform don’t have an original idea that wasn’t first dreamt up by the Trump Regime.

I don’t think positioning the Tories as being more neoliberal than Reform UK is really the political masterstroke that Kemi Badenoch thinks it is… 😂

I would say that this meme sums up my thoughts on the approach of much of the media coverage in current British politics.

Thank You Ncuti for being such an outstanding Doctor! Your charisma made your Doctor one of the best. It was amazing to see queer representation at the heart of Doctor Who. Some stars shine too bright, even for the Whoniverse. Farewell 15! @ncutigatwa.bsky.social

I really enjoyed going to my local cinema tonight to watch the finale of this season of Doctor Who!!!

What a rollercoaster of an episode! So many twists and turns! It was fantastic! 🔷❤️❤️

I see there was a new Social Liberal Party in the Portuguese Legislative Election yesterday. I will certainly be watching its political process with great interest. 💛🇵🇹

This data shows why the Blue Labour strategy will be disastrous for Labour. 2024 Labour voters already have a more favourable view of the Greens than of Labour, with the Lib Dems close behind. Labour’s lurch to the right could cost it many progressive voters compared to the few voters it could gain.
May 16, 2025 at 10:06 PM
Labour should be learning from Mark Carney and Anthony Albanese, not from Farage and Lord Glasman.

If all Labour amounts to in 2029 is Red Reform, it will be disastrous.

"We hate you, please vote for us" is not the winning strategy for holding progressive voters that Morgan McSweeney thinks it is.
May 6, 2025 at 1:34 PM
Blue Labour is the idea that Labour should become right-wing on cultural issues. Yet in practice all it will do is validate Reform, thus attracting more traditional working class people to vote Reform, while alienating progressive voters to vote Lib Dem or Green. Red Reform will be Labour’s undoing!
May 3, 2025 at 8:27 PM
Starmer needs to change course and fast. Firstly he must scrap his cuts to PIP and Winter Fuel Allowance.

Next he should rebuke Blue Labour and sure up his culturally progressive base.

Then he should create a narrative that explains what change Labour wants. Just attacking the Tories isn’t enough.
