The Trump Regime is the greatest threat to European liberal democracy since the collapse of the USSR.

It is advancing far-right fascistic narratives about “civilisational erasure” while promoting far-right “patriotic” parties seeking to undermine liberal democracy.

Europe must stand against Trump!

It's time for Labour MP's to back our bill and help turbocharge our economy.

What Tory nonsense!

1. I assume that applies to dual nationals.
2. It would mean ending the Good Friday Agreement in NI.
3. Is that regardless of the crime? So dual nationals would get their British citizenship stripped regardless of whether they are found guilty of petty shoplifting or murder?

An interesting response by Starmer to the question about removing the triple-lock.

Also, in defence of the Green Party, I don’t think people under their policy would be allowed to sell drugs outside schools. Just as people can’t stand outside schools and sell alcohol and cigarettes to children now.
When asked whether he would remove the triple-lock pension in the next parliament, Keir Starmer says we must "make sure we've got a clear enough path with resources, funding and ambition for young people to go as far as their talent will take them.”

It was amusing listening to commentators on #Newsnight last night discuss how Labour will go into the next election promising to reverse Brexit.

The main reason why I think they won’t is because they are too wedded to Blue Labour nostalgia. To do so would mean sacrificing dozens of “Red Wall” MPs.

Election after election across the country, it’s either the Liberal Democrats or Reform who are winning.

No wonder Labour & the Tories want to cancel as many elections as possible – but they can’t be allowed to get away with it.

This is our democracy, not their plaything.

Wes Streeting orders review of mental health diagnoses as benefit claims soar
Health secretary has asked experts to investigate whether normal feelings have become ‘over-pathologised’ The health secretary, Wes Streeting, has ordered a clinical review of the diagnosis of mental health conditions, according to reports. Streeting is understood to be concerned about a sharp rise in the number of people making sickness benefits claims because of diagnoses for mental illness, autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), the Times reported. He has asked leading experts to investigate whether normal feelings have become “over-pathologised”, the newspaper said, as he seeks to grapple with the 4.4 million working-age people now claiming sickness or incapacity benefit. The figure has risen by 1.2 million since 2019, while the number of 16 to 34-year-olds off work with long-term sickness because of a mental health condition is said to have grown rapidly in the same period. Streeting told the Times he knew from “personal experience how devastating it can be for people who face poor mental health, have ADHD or autism and can’t get a diagnosis or the right support”. He added: “I also know, from speaking to clinicians, how the diagnosis of these conditions is sharply rising. “We must look at this through a strictly clinical lens to get an evidence-based understanding of what we know, what we don’t know, and what these patterns tell us about our mental health system, autism and ADHD services. “That’s the only way we can ensure everyone gets timely access to accurate diagnosis and effective support.” The review, which is expected to be launched on Thursday, is set to be led by Prof Peter Fonagy, a clinical psychologist at University College London specialising in child mental health, with Sir Simon Wessely, a former president of the Royal College of Psychiatry, acting as vice-chair.
