So sorry to learn about the death of Carolyn McCarthy. Worked closely with her in 2007 after the Virginia Tech Massacre to get the NICS Improvement Amendments Act passed to strengthen the background check system.

Very sad to learn that one of our IU Civic Leaders Center “alums”, Asra Hussain, from our 2016-17 cohort, was a passenger on the plane that crashed into the Potomac River last night. Asra graduated from the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University in May 2020.
