I earned $3,205.51 for selling power back to Eversource last summer during early evening peak loads. I used those earnings to pay for any grid-power needed for my all-electric home's water/heating/cooling/EVs in winter when solar is lower, resulting in ~zero net energy costs per year!

Yeah, similar to my experience, thanks for the thoughtful reply Ken! Also missing are most companies, so tagging backup, storage, and sustainability/electrification companies for direct feedback isn’t a thing here. My Mastodon experience is even weaker. Oh well.

24 hours later, zero responses, kind of answers the question.

No view count feels like posting into the void, but I'm glad to see something like it might get added to Bluesky

@35:12 @mikegrunwald.bsky.social quotes Tim Searchinger:
"100 acres of corn grown for ethanol to generate the energy of a one acre solar array. So humanity would have to use 30% of its cropland to produce 2% of its energy. It just doesn't work."

Whatever, it's good news any which way. I'm hoping to follow-up someday with a post announcing when it's full operational.

"will drive up the cost of electricity bills and contradicts everything the administration has told us. It wastes years of state investment in renewable energy designed to diversify our energy supply and lower costs for families and businesses,” said Gov. Ned Lamont in a statement Saturday.

“This arbitrary decision defies all logic and reason. Revolution Wind’s project was already well underway and employed hundreds of skilled tradesmen and women. This is a major setback for a critical project in Connecticut, and I will fight it.” - Sen. Richard Blumenthal
