Spent my weekend in the beautiful city of Parma for some food, coffee and football. Took in the Parma v Como match, but the reason why I was in the area was for the Sassuolo v Roma game! Glad we dug in and defended our 1-0 win. The atmosphere from the Roma fans was brilliant. Relentless support.

Football is coming home, but I’m not coming home. Sorry, mum!

What a win! But one more leg to play. I love Servette European awaydays!

When #WEuro2025 comes to Geneva: the Italy v Norway quarters edition. It’s the last post of this series but what a way to end! No semi-final for me.

Some of my favourite things I’ve seen during my Swedish trip. The first ever football sticker in sign language (FCK - FC København in Danish Sign Language). Deaf fans are everywhere. Also, it’s great to see a fellow “honorary Swiss” Londoner being recognised by Malmo FF fans for his work.

Sweden has a rich football culture. It is accessible for deaf, disabled, women and young fans. All sports clubs are fan-owned (at least 51%), fostering a sense of community between fans and teams. The ultras scene is vibrant. The absence of VAR and big-spending owners keeps the game popular.

Went to the AIK v IFK Göteborg match in Solna. Both teams have a bit of a rivalry. Passion was on display with a great AIK tifo and a passionate away support but AIK walked to a comfortable 3-0 win, putting pressure on Mjallby, the league leader. Brilliant home support.

Headed to Stockholm for the Hammarby v Halmstad BK match. I always want to sample the famous Hammarby atmosphere. Not disappointed. A passionate home support. The experience is accessible with a Swedish Sign Language interpreter on the big screen. A solid 2-0 win for the Green & White Men.

Just finished my whirlwind tour of Swedish football over the last three days. Here’s a mini thread.

- Ariana v FC Rosengard - a Malmö third division derby between a team founded by Afghan refugees and a local team. FCR won with a last min free kick winner. Great old school ground. 1/?

Visited the Basilica of Superga and the Superga Memorial. It serves as a poignant reminder of the tragic 1949 plane crash that claimed the lives of the Torino football team, leaving a profound impact on the club, Turin and Italian football. Beautiful views from the top.

There is no CL place for the Giallorossi, but what an effort from Sir Claudio, who managed to get us in contention after that Juric nightmare. Proud of the team. Daje Roma!

Ciao da Torino! It’s my first time in this magnificent city. In town for the Torino v AS Roma match. We need a win and a Juve defeat to qualify for CL, but it’s laudable that we’re still in contention for CL places after an explicitly awful start. Sir Claudio is a miracle worker.

Brilliant atmosphere last night. Big summer ahead of Servette with René Weiler, Dereck Kutesa and Enzo Crivelli leaving the club. It’s great that we finished second, which means more European adventures. The main immediate goal is to reach a group stage. And competing for the title, of course!

Servette are embracing the Eurovision party atmosphere by qualifying for European football next season after beating Lugano 4-1 at home. Bring on new European adventures!

Grazie Roma! It was an experience watching an away game in the home end among the Inter fans, who got frantically cross as the game went by. I had no choice to sit there since the authorities closed the away end. So relieved to get a result at San Siro!

In Milan for the Inter v Roma game. Love exploring this city and its neighbourhoods and celebrating a year without alcohol (albeit belatedly) with some nonalcoholic aperitivo.

Another brilliant night of European football. I don’t understand why anyone hates the beautiful game…

It’s not a good day for Servette. We lost to St Gallen and FCB gained a further advantage. So frustrating. Seven tough matches ahead…

Visited Konstanz for the first time. It’s now one of my favourite German cities. A beautiful historic city centre with a laidback yet lively atmosphere. Some decent coffee shops and restaurants. Lots of nice places to explore. I'll be back!
