went on a guided walk in remnant prairie at sunset this past week. the guide has been a biology prof for over 30 years. here’s a picture of some prairie plants:

my moissanite street cred
on my left ring finger there is a palladium ring with metal in folds like a blossoming flower. in the corners of the folds are tiny moissanite stones. the ring is made by the designer nervous systems.

a movie that takes place where you’re from

just so happened to have written a poem about this experience this morning
this morning it was cold, it was grey, it was raining, but i saw the robins, i heard them before i saw them, i stopped in my tracks, on the way to work, and looked up. a few fall brightened leaves were hanging on to their branches, but many of the branches were bare. not totally bare because there were robins. i thought they were robins, although i couldn’t be sure, their rust-colored breasts muted by lack of sunlight. i stopped in my tracks and pulled out my phone, pulled up my birdsong app, the app called Merlin, it’s magical, to hear birdsong, hit record, and be rewarded with the name and image of a bird. i was on my way to work and heard birdsong. i stopped in my tracks.
