How odd.

"Resale condos in an earlier phase of this same development, units just under 600 sq ft, have recently sold for around $370K (roughly $650 per square foot).

Yet in early November, five units in the newly completed phase sold for over $1,000 per square foot."

If it did say that, exposing the actual acct creation location got rolled back already so I don't see that information.

Dang, I wanted to see how many of the ppl who blocked me were from Russia back when I would post there

2 adults, giving no preference to dates airbnb says there are 693 homes to choose from in the area. Wonder how many are local & used to be long term rentals bf STR mania

Travelers PLEASE choose motels, inns, hotels or traditional bed and breakfast. Don't contribute to this crisis! #BanAirBNB

Lemme guess, also the first speaker that sells real estate, brokers mortgages or whose career is property investing?

Gotta be one, or combo of the three. Bc no normal, RE is a dwelling homeowner sweats a small prop tax increase to fund their city's services & amenities. thetyee.ca/News/2025/11...

Stumbled on this post yrs ago.

Lack of renter demand for "new shoebox" condo units (which is sadly, larger/more generous than today's "new shoebox" condo) was noticed by Toronto Realtor Steve Fudge during the time the last big bubble had popped. urbaneer.com/blog/when-dr...

USA has recent enough experience to know this doesn't stop a crash either. Still need to maintain employment to pay the mtg, and there's all those other pesky costs- tax, insurance, HOA/Condo, Maintenance to carry too

Oooof.
Here's a little warning from Japan to the US around the last US bubble peak. Such nonsense even going into multi generational mortgages was used in Japan too in attempt to stop their historic RE bubble burst.

Tried to warn people. 🤷‍♀️
RE is like a religion here.

Wonder WHY op's tenants keep leaving midway into a lease? If after all the other problems inherent in these condo "investments" this unit is also unlucky enough to be under/beside a problem neighbour on top of it? www.reddit.com/r/PersonalFi...

Ontario Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing said on the other site they're not proceeding "with consultations" NOT that these changes aren't happening!

DON'T BACK DOWN Ontarians, protect your tenants!

If you think our rental housing supply should depend on building condos and buildings bought by private landlords READ THE WHOLE ARTICLE.

Let's demand our governments build enough supply of social housing so people in our communities aren't at the mercy of the LTB & scum of the earth landlords.

🎻 Right here.
New purpose built rentals & new social housing units is building, but they'd never suggest THAT to keep Cdn's in construction employed bc it further eases demand, prices & rents their product could attain

Don't need anymore shitty bubble condos these developers had been cranking out

Our strata was much older than this one. Owners never did "catch up" maint fees being kept too low attracted new buyers who also wouldn't vote for such increases, meanwhile deferred things just pile up, creating more work/stress for volunteers that get burnt out & sell. Came away w the same feeling.

Loved when the RE pumpers would say ppl w tiny mtgs or mtg free home owners would be the ones to carry this real estate bubble in perpetuity because they have all the time in the world to "wait" to get "peak prices" & would do that. 🤣 Um, no. ppl have stuff they want to do man. #REBubble

Yes Virginia, there is a housing market crash.

Even though this thing is still in the early innings it's already our worst decline in over 50 years. #Canada www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

and not just FL. Under-funding in condos happens everywhere. The desire is there to keep fees low for owners, even when it will mean big problems one day in the future vanmag.com/city/real-es...

Quote from the article. Sad thing is, ON condos are also far from perfect, on the whole, ON condos still not setting aside enough funds/starting w a too low budget in new buildings.

I feel for this family and their baby. This is what happened in our old strata too. I couldn't handle another summer there when we moved.
