Not to be a shill but I've been using Mint Mobile for a couple of years and yes the savings are great and the travel plans are amazing but my favorite thing about it is that when I'm approached by salespeople for other carriers and they ask who I'm using, answering Mint almost always ends the convo

The other night my cat woke me up yowling about something outside that I couldn't see because it was dark and the windows were foggy, but my first instinct was t go outside and see if I could find whatever it was and that's how I know I'd be the cold open in a monster-of-the-week show

I was explaining to my Ukrainian colleague the phrase ‘There’s no such thing as a free lunch’. She told me the equivalent in Ukrainian is ‘The only free cheese is in the mousetrap’ - which is so much better

Walking by the water on my first day in Charlottetown:
Look at those funny things in the water, is that some kind of seaweed?
Ha, it looks like jellyfish, but they can't all be jellyfish
...They can't possibly all be...

A big lesson I hope folks can learn quickly is the difference between reclaiming an oppressive phase and accepting an oppressor’s ideology.

“We’re here, we’re queer, get used to it” reclaims a slur by trading shame for pride.

“Lock him up” accepts a fascistic frame of cruelty and expands it.
