A massive thank you to the folks from the STFC & Boulby Underground Laboratory for showing me around for #DarkMatterDay!

We went 1km underground & I spoke with people who do this every day to better understand how our universe works. It was such a unique experience & I can't wait to show you more!!

Let's go on a Dark Matter Hunt!

It's almost Dark Matter Day -- also known as Halloween 👻 🎃 -- and I'm really excited to be heading to the STFC’s Boulby Underground Laboratory! This is a unique facility where scientists hunt for the missing matter that makes up our Universe. 🌌

If you're near #Cardiff, book tickets to this, you won't regret it!
We always try to get Nine Lessons shows beyond London - it is never profitable but we hope it makes it accessible for others - This year is CARDIFF - but no one seems to want to come - so we will pull it next week if we see that it is going to lose us too much money

Comet #3I/ATLAS is only the third interstellar object we've ever spotted ☄️

Discovered in July, the comet is making its way through our Solar System, carrying onboard clues about the formation of worlds far beyond our own.

Some days, I wonder whether my videos on social media are having an impact, and then other days a student messages me that they found out about an opportunity through my video and they wouldn't have been going to CERN if I hadn't made it and it just makes all the planning and editing so worth it 😊💛

I am, once again, asking conference organisers to have one social media account on each platform for your conference that gets passed on to the next local organisers for each iteration. This is how you build up a larger audience.

Making a video isn't what takes the most time as a content creator, it's picking which face I'm pulling as I talk I can tolerate most as the thumbnail 😅

One problem with being British is that sometimes I genuinely mean "it would have been nice" as "I would have liked that" and not always as "you should have done this", but everything I write sounds passive aggressive to me 😅

@robertkirkman.bsky.social I just finished season 3 of Invincible (excellent!), but I need to know:
In S2E4, when Omni-Man tells Mark: "She's tearing you apart", is that a nod to The Room or just a coincidence? 😄
