After dipping on Friday when most saw it, I happened to be at the right end of the compound for the Desert Wheatear this afternoon. Phonescoped record shot. @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social

Hi @mothiduk.bsky.social Please can you help with the mystery micro? I can't even work out which family! Also is the other a strange square spot rustic or something else? Thanks.

Went to see the Boyton Marshes young black stork whilst on a family holiday in the area. To say it's tame is an understatement! ( I didn't stalk, I sat on the bank and it decided it wanted to go past)

Hi @mothiduk.bsky.social .
2 mystery micros and a pug from recent traps in my Poole garden which I'm unsure about. Please can you help?

Your 'modest' traps are bigger than my best ever with a homemade bucket trap in urban Parkstone! However I did also get a Blair's Mocha about a week ago.

Hi @mothiduk.bsky.social. Please could you help with these two? First looks like some kind of pyralidae but the marking seems wrong. Is the other a Roeslerstammia erxlebella even though can't see white antennae?

Hi @mothiduk.bsky.social Please can you have a look at this mystery micro? Spent ages trying to identify this one myself but can't find anything that matches. Thanks.

Hi @mothiduk.bsky.social
Is this a poplar grey or just a worn knot grass? Thanks.

Hi @mothiduk.bsky.social . Please can you identify this micro hiding on the bulb frame of this morning's trap? Thought it was a diamond backed moth to start with, but the shape seems wrong. Thanks.

A lovely Brindled Beauty this morning is the 200th moth species seen in my urban Parkstone garden since I began trapping 4 years ago. Still using the home made bucket and funnel trap with an actinic bulb.

First moths of the year in the Parkstone garden. Okay so they're just about the commonest you could expect for the time of year but it's still an event!
