I disagree. Who in Seoul is asking right now how Washington feels?

There are ample bad memories in Korea of US involvement with previous autocrats.

Letting them handle it (as they seem quite capable of doing) minimizes risk.

Folks in D.C. ignored his domestic train wreck because he was playing nice with Japan and he sang a song at the White House. That was obviously missing the forest for the trees. His entire foreign policy will be repudiated, and relations with Japan will be radioactive.
