Last night my short play ‘Hello in There’ went up as part of PlaygroundLA’s best of series and as amazing as it was to see my work live alongside 5 others, even more cup filling was having ten friends come out. It really is the community behind you that keeps you up and going. #theatre #community

Now that the panic has worn off a little I can share that when I evacuated from the Sunset fire in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (I live 500m from Runyon canyon) I grabbed all my library books - because in my brain I didn’t want to get in trouble/deal with the fines

My two biggest complaints about TV scripts from new/emerging writers
One is choreography on the page. You need to know where people are, where they are going, when they enter. You have to tell the reader enough to picture the scene in your head.

If anyone in LA is thinking they want a new puppy for Christmas - may I remind you to check the shelters versus going to a breeder? The LA shelters are drowning in dogs, even high end breeds! Don’t support backyard breeders. And if anyone is looking for a goof - I have this floof as a foster!

This year has been so weird and awful, but the silver lining has been the people who’ve been in the same boat, coming together to collaborate on projects. I’m watching this space hopefully for the flowers that grow from the seeds sown in times of uncertainty
