People really do underrate the mark the Dark Matter trilogy left on the franchise.

I actually do like how how the Return to Dream Land onwards games incorporate the best parts of Dark Matter trilogy design as well, not just Super Star's. Not only is the boss design closer to them but also in having lots of collectibles in the levels! They kept the point stars from DL2/3/64!

All the more reason I'm admiring that Kirby Air Riders is sticking true to itself in the modern day and still focuses on appealing fans of the original rather than trying to please people who would never like the original. Non-fans got sick of it but fans of the original loved the demo.
