They are part of a greater narrative of galaxy scale war, one that IMO needs named characters to die without swansong for verisimilitude.
I don't think there is a way you can kill a named character outside of a big self sacrifice scene, without folks being unhappy. But I think you should.

I'm probably a touch less cynical about it, but I do think its an attempt to make marketable characters, and I don't think psycho Bob was cutting it. :P

Its a game champ. How can I assure you that I find being called it unaffecting, whilst it still being a weird thing to post at people you don't know.

Aside from the joke that's definitely my opinion also. Kill the named characters, 1 a year at minimum. :)

Several years ago a guy kept posting random abuse at me, and kept calling me 'word bearer' like it was a mortally wounding insult.
I made the above post about it. It got screen shot and its constantly wheeled out as proof Im a fake fan and dont even know who word bearers are 🙄

I still remain non-triggered by being name called a fictional faction who's actions apparently really rustle the jimmies of some loyalist fans deep in their very serious imperium LARPing.

That said, when it gets posted the person doing so usually tells their followers a fiction about what the contents of the post are, and how it makes me a fake fan. Past that point I'm not sure the faithful actually bother to read the post itself in their rush to be outraged at a woke hobbyist.

Fingers crossed, and yeah I love the GSC range and its scope for dropping in other minis from imp guard, necromunda, etc.

I get the franchise reasons. But in a setting of constant war & planet killing weapons, the fact that Bob keeps showing up tests my suspension of disbelief.
