ESQUIRE: “ICE is hiring literally anybody, and it’s terrifying… people who flunk the exam, criminal records… yet they’re allowed to tear children from their beds at night.”

Our nation's federal employees are more than just numbers on a spreadsheet.

They make sure we have clean water.

They protect us from financial fraud.

They provide healthcare to our communities.

They make our government actually work for people.

Do not forget this.

The war on immigration is just all bad in every possible direction.
--It is very expensive
--It radicalizes government agencies
--It distorts US foreign policy
--It is very harmful to the economy
--It is also quite cruel.

There is no second/third order consequence that is positive.
Local jails–mostly run by elected sheriffs–are making money off of ICE's rampant criminalization of immigration.

Erythra Thalassa (Red Sea). My first quilted wall hanging, in the works for at least 2 years, now hanging in my kitchen. Yantra or thangka inspired. Held up with tiny binder clips for the moment, maybe forever. A little wonky-wavy, fitting the theme. Definitely my favorite finished project so far.
