Are we heading to a new history war? A new executive order, Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History, suggests that the answer is yes. Instead of a "false narrative" disparaging the US, it says, we must "focus on the greatness of the achievements...of the American people...."

What Cory Booker did wasn’t just about breaking a record or standing up for democracy—it hits different for Black folks.

Strom Thurmond spoke for 24 hours to block the Civil Rights Act of 1957.

Cory Booker, a Black man, shattered a segregationist’s legacy—and flipped the script.

The message is: crowd large.

Many politicians, administrators, and business leaders, in bowing to Trump, have drawn confidence and comfort from the perceived vibe shift.

Events like this puncture that delusion.
You can stop asking where the mass opposition is. It's everywhere.
People poured out to protest not only what Trump has done—and what they fear he will do next.

On 1/6/21 an estimated 2500 people, inspired by Trump, stormed the Capitol. Almost 1500 were charged with federal crimes.

Today, tens of thousands marched peacefully through Boston to protest Trump. There were no arrests or incidents.

This is what democracy looks like.

The House GOP ran on lowering your cost of living.

Now, they are making it easier for corporations to scam you out of your money.
And just like that, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau homepage, consumerfinance.gov, is being erased. As of January 30, 2025, CFPB enforcement actions resulted in
$19.7 billion in consumer relief.

Target, which announced it is ending all DEI programs and has a minimum wage of $15-$24/hour, is down over 4%.
