Just a reminder that Amazon workers are striking tomorrow through Monday, and that none of the “deals” are good enough to justify crossing the picket line.

My mother-in-law, at 96, has given up on the computer. Today we managed to find and buy an electric typewriter for her. She's very excited - but who knew the electric versions were so much harder to buy than the manuals?
Where did we find it? In a pawn shop!

I have been absent, organising the publication of this, my 50th! Kind of hard to believe...

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: in terms of appreciation received for effort put in, nothing beats freshly baked scones.

And telling your library about it!
The best boost for book sales is word of mouth recommendation. Always has been, always will be. You can support your favourite writers by sharing your enthusiasm in person and online, and with ratings and reviews - which aren't homework assignments. Saying 'this is great, I loved it' will do fine.

Today I'm writing about the Great Barrier Reef. Did you know that much of the sand on the Reef (and on Qld beaches) has been pooped out by a parrot fish? #Reeffacts

Well, I’ve had a go and created a Starter Pack for those interested in Australian Kidlit.
Please let me know if you’d like to be added and/or removed.
Looking forward to connecting with others who are also Aussie Kidlit tragics and advocates.

Blocking Nazis, trolls, and fascists doesn’t make it an “echo chamber.” People need to stop gaslighting us into thinking we have to listen to Nazis and debate trolls in order to be informed.

Test post for the Book Booster list! Bidhi Galing by Anita Heiss & Samantha Campbell is a vividly illustrated children’s book about the Great Flood of Gundagai & the heroism of Wiradyuri men Yarri & Jacky Jacky, told through the eyes of Yarri’s daughter. Compelling, personal & painfully relevant.

Look at the delicious painting I just received from the Wilderness Society auction. This is from Liz Anelli and my first book together, Desert Lake. She's so clever, that Liz!
