Better late than never. It would have been better had he been as vociferous before trump was re-elected, though. As a political commentator, he had one job. Thanks to those like him who minimized the threat trump posed to democracy, we’ve got an existential crisis on our hands.

Human nature is pretty much the same as it has always been. But the culture in which we currently live rewards vice & penalizes virtue. It cannot be sustained, but it can do a great deal of damage until it collapses.
I entered political writing during the Obama era with a very pessimistic view of human nature. Over time, I grew more optimistic. Even 2016 didn’t dampen that. But every day since the last election has proved that my original view was the right one.
