lol if I’m remembering right, it was initially written as Kirk/Spock/McCoy, but once they got Nimoy and Kelley’s rate quotes from their reps, the producers just Ctrl+R’d “Spock” and “Bones” to “Scotty” and “Chekhov” in the script and called it a day.
