this. i only really want to learn conlang terms as i'm reading if it's for a word that doesn't exist in english (like tharn). english excels at swears, there's no need for replacement.

imo conlangs should always serve the narrative. tolkien uses it to display the long history of his world; adams uses it to highlight the nonhumanness of his characters. is not understanding the conlang speakers important to your narrative? then keep it.
