I had a fantastic Day Out at @butserancientfarm.co.uk on Saturday, learned to make a copper shadow puppet! I love doing random arty workshops, learning new things and having a go with no expectation that I'll be competent, it is very freeing just to have fun with something.

About 30 hours to hand-grind, sand and polish one side of the bronze pendant I made with @experimentalkearns.bsky.social at @butserancientfarm.co.uk ! I used my dremel heads but did it by hand 1) for Bronze Age authenticity and 2) I have no clamp to hold it in and didn't want to grind my fingers.

Comet, using the copper I smelted with my own fair hands under the expert instruction of @experimentalkearns.bsky.social at @butserancientfarm.co.uk. An absolute bugger to take photos of but I am very pleased with it.

Comet, using the copper I smelted with my own fair hands under the expert instruction of @experimentalkearns.bsky.social at @butserancientfarm.co.uk. An absolute bugger to take photos of but I am very pleased with it.

I did an ancient metalworking workshop at @butserancientfarm.co.uk and it was amazing. We crushed malachite and smelted it into copper (mine is going to become a comet) then we made bronze! I made a pendant that is in the slow smoothing and polishing by hand stage.

Stone out of song: I am redoing my Dark is Rising signs, they were the first things i ever did in wire and beads, and now I am a lot better at it, so I'm taking the old ones apart and redoing them in between pony commissions. Stone done last week.
