Retired Doctor. Overwhelmed by the miracle that is life. Wanting to protect it. Politically Green. Bluesky members, stop me from despairing!
You can't 'build a relationship with a narcissist' ! They remain totally arrogant and self-centred, and just think you are weak. The world must unite and prevent Trump from annexing Greenland. He has gone too far. Time to stand up to him, and for America to see how he is alienating them, and get rid

We threw away such a lot for that not-so “special relationship”.
A more confident nation, with more honest politicians, would admit it and make amends with Europe. This is all such bullshit.

Keir Starmer did everything he could to be US poodle and his strategy has ended in total humiliation. Both him and Farage are puppets of a hostile foreign nation.

It's obvious that if someone is a bully - you don't just keep appeasing them.

Disastrous strategy by Labour.

The only award Trump deserves is for inducing sycophancy through threats and bribes.

Marco Longhi,
Aiden Burley,
Anne Marie Morris,
Lee Anderson
and Andrea Jenkyns.

No. It will end well. The voters will see through this ragged band of self serving grifters and turn away from them. They are unfit to govern. Consign them to the political dustbin, and move on.

The infighting on the right will be even stronger in reform. Farage falls out with everyone sooner or later…
Jenrick defection to Reform is the end of him. Farage already struggles to contain more than one outsized ego in his parliamentary party. Certainly no room for anything the size of Robert's inflated sense of self-worth.

You mark my words - it'll end badly.

Doesn't Starmer's appeasement of Trump mirror Chamberlain's appeasement of Hitler in the 1930s? That didn't end well.

Ffs. These people are without shame. All grunting around in the trough demanding peerages and then sulking off to Reform: home from home for corrupt Tory millionaires who’ve already had one long go at screwing us over and think they deserve another shot.
They can all go to hell.
❤️‍🔥Tory sources confirm that Nadhim Zahawi made approaches to senior members of Kemi Badenoch's team about getting a peerage just weeks before defecting to Reform UK - but was turned down.

Starmer, in supporting the genocidal Israeli state seemed to demonstrate some sort of backbone. But where has it disappeared to now faced with a rogue expansionist, colonialist power that is flouting international law and threatens many sovereign states around the world including NATO members?
January 11, 2026 at 12:58 PM
That would be lovely, but who is going to do it? Nobody with any power is standing up to the Trump administration. He laughs at his opponents and carries on his megalomaniac agenda regardless.

Darren Jones saying repeatedly the Labour Government won't comment on a hypothetical.

It's not hypothetical - Trump is saying very loudly repeatedly what he's done and boasting about it.

And yet the UK Government won't even say it's a breach of international rules. Shameful.

Mmm 'and I'm still waiting ooh ooh ooh ooh still waiting'
The US attack on Venezuela is an illegal act of aggression against a sovereign country (with lots of oil). Venezuela has become a more deeply repressive dictatorship & urgently needs democratic solution but this is unjustified & unjustifiable. Look forward to seeing swift UK Government condemnation.

Even if Trump’s attack on Venezuela and kidnapping of Maduro somehow led to a positive impact on Venezuela’s future, it would not make these actions by the United States legal, moral or wise.

Normalising and legitimising this behaviour endangers all countries - democracies and dictatorships alike.

Venezuela now, because he wants the oil.

He wants the oil under Greenland too. And under Canada. He's openly called for them to be part of the USA.

How long before he decides to bomb a couple of NATO members to get his own way?

The USA is a rogue nation.
January 3, 2026 at 9:47 AM
Trump is now so deranged and arrogant that he thinks he can kidnap any leader that he doesn't like of another sovereign country, take him back to America, and accuse him in an American court on 'Trumped up' charges without evidence. No doubt the craven legal system will then find him guilty.
The PM and Foreign Secretary should be condemning this illegal strike and breach of international human rights law.

After years of arming a genocide and worshipping the “special relationship”, Trump now believes he can act with impunity.
Trump just kidnapped President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela

Not ‘perhaps’. Labour ‘should’ stand up. What is it waiting for?

Kick out the Tory appointments - the enemies within- like Robbie Gibb.

And stand up for the BBC against Trump.

Come on, Labour, grow a backbone!
Perhaps Labour should stand up to Murdoch and those trying to destroy the BBC from within - it's in their hands to change the direction.
December 16, 2025 at 1:51 PM
Seeing as Trump now defies international law with impunity, why should the BBC take any notice of him filing a defamation claim in a Florida court? Why is he not suing the thousands of people who defame him daily on social media? Why does he not sue himself? He defames himself daily by his own acts

And with gun ownership so prevalent, civil war will be bloody.
When the U.S. uses the military against citizens, attacks immigrants, and executes people who pose no threat, it jeopardizes our national security because it incites violence, invites retaliation, normalizes fascism, and sets precedence for others to follow suit. Trump is endangering America.

As a visitor to the US my partner was shocked to enter a gun shop and see the array of weapons on open sale. She was especially shocked by a stand displaying handbags with special compartments for 'lady' s guns'. So dainty, so feminine! What is wrong with you people?
Just checking: are we saying how horrible the shooting at Brown is and then just going back to business as normal for a couple of days until the next shooting occurs?

These are the preconditions for the breakdown of societies, the fall of Civilisations. Don't the mega-rich know their history? They should all volunteer to pay much more tax; because it's the moral thing to do, but also for self preservation!

But at least the Greens HAVE aspirations.

Labour have seemingly decided the status quo cannot be touched, even when it doesn't work for 90% of people, or the viability of life on the planet.
