It's weird, on the professional site, that a lot of things have become fodder for engagement and attempts to gain status. A junior-level someone did something silly in an interview? Post. Someone wore, said, did something in the office? Post.
Can we not? It's gross.

Of the 86 Dems who voted to denounce "the horrors of socialism," tell me what you think that means and when you'll be opting out of socialist practices embedded in the society you live in because, you know, the horrors.
Each vote comes with its own pearl necklace and libertarian flag.

If we stop giving the Pedo of the US acknowledgment for every asinine thing barfed out of his mouth or fatly typed, will he turn to dust, starved of attention like any other useless, common narcissist?

If I were a cat, this would be a vacant box, challenging me to sit in it.
The first book in my series, Late Tudor and Stuart Drama: Readings in Feminist Theories and Histories, is out! Please, friends, spread the word about the book (ask your libraries to buy it) but also about the series. I'd love to read your manuscript! More info in my pinned post. #EarlyModern

Clothing signals group belonging (or not). This is sociologically true.
If you don't like what someone is wearing, stfu, de-center your delusional main character energy, and find your people because that person isn't it nor do they want to be.

In related news, the claim ‘the Tooth Fairy does not actually take lost baby teeth from under pillows’ is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that magical beings are secretly thieving teeth in the dead of night…”

CDC backpedals on vaccines and autism, despite earlier assurances from RFK Jr.
The CDC, under the direction of an unqualified health secretary, is now promoting claims that flunk Logic 101.

If you worked on this keyboard, you should be embarrassed. The swipe to text is more incompetent than a lawyer using AI hallucinations in court filings.

Not all heroes wear capes. Some are out here making risotto, minding our business.
one of the people in my PhD cohort was just inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

in other news, tonight i’ll be making my famous pressure-cooker risotto. stay tuned for pics!

Quite frankly, I'm deeply unsettled that as I age, the people that have existed in the world for my entire life are leaving. Not people I personally know but staples of pop culture. And the I am Legend-quality strangeness hits a little too hard.

There are only two types of lipstick: hydrating, silky, gone in five minutes or less and wall paint, Sahara sand, can't be removed with surgery.

Great! Run.
Did it!
...did you? You didn't fail, but the thing you were supposed to do didn't happen.

Nothing says totally private and secure like having your identity stolen and then repeatedly having to give that same information to strangers on the phone to prove who you are.
Is the data breach coming from inside the house?

New unfounded theory: Percy bored the fuck out of Mary Shelley with his magnet obsession. Frankenstein is a retaliatory work of both escapism and warning about being subjected to the pedantry of men.
I will accept no notes on this.
Meanwhile, on twitter, did you know that Mary Shelley never could have written Frankenstein (which is about magnets as you know) because her boyfriend was really into magnets?

In fact, when you think about it, that's why women in general don't write great literature (chicks aren't into magnets).

You're not a good fit, and we'd like to go on a different direction. Please vacate the party.

Any AI argument where the premise is "Dont! It makes you dumb," without acknowledging that employers dgaf about your ability to read, absorb, & synthesize the snail mail way isn't worth entertaining. They care about output & reducing time to produce. Are you solving for the core problem? K.

Do more with less is the whole tech industry vibe until they realize they have too little and things start breaking.
It's like cutting your own bangs too short.

Are younger generations lazy or are they bombarded with the relentless crush of expected output and productivity under capitalism so they're scrounging for leisure and a modicum of rest through shortcuts?

I'm curious about the reasoning behind approving WA Cares to be invested. We dump in an insane amount of our paycheck, way more than we'll ever be allowed to use if the need arises, and now we want to extra fund it? Why tho?
