Graphic artist specialising in game and space art. Currently trying to learn animation so I can make silly CGI videos.
Tried this with a Zombie I made. I took a screengrab of the critter and brought that into Meshy. From the screengrab, it produced a good mesh with defined hands. It did a good job of the back anatomy. I followed through with the rigging and success!! This is from an image, not a model!

Tried the rigging and animation of an Imperial officer from Star Wars. The rigging was very much like Mixamo, but defined left and right. The finished result wasn't particularly great, but if you started with a more T or A pose character, I imagine you would have a lot more success.

Oh boy. I tried a picture of an imperial officer from Star Wars and got this. The AI knew that it was a human and put his hands behind his back. It's made an attempt to create the hands, which aren't too awful for an approximation.

Oh dear! I thought this was a very unfair test, but it didn't do too bad. I'm impressed it could make some sense of all those pipes!

UV map!

I used a similar one, MeshyAI, and got some decent results.
While interesting, for animation production, it will only serve as a guide for character creation. I'll need to produce a proper optimised mesh that is just the head for addition of hair, retopology, etc, etc...
But it's interesting.

I tried to sign up and they won't send me a confirmation. I tried to sign into their discord and they want me to give them my date of birth and fill out four or five "Are you human" captcha screens. I decided that life was too short.

Logic, cause/effect and reality has nothing to do with Trump or the Republican party.

Are you really DEFENDING him?

With all the heinous crap we either have him directly on tape doing or he's boasted about doing on social media, I would just assume that he's done this without any proof. It's just his M.O. At this point, he just can't help it.

Wait a minute, you ARE defending him!

No lallygagging either. This guy is checking his watch to make sure he's spot on time.

I don't believe for a minute that the creepy asshole would return the real thing and keep the copy. Not for a minute.
November 15, 2025 at 12:26 PM
Do you honestly believe that Donald Trump, the famed narcissistic liar and sexual deviant, who kept secret documents in his bathroom, would actually have a copy made and put the copy in Mar-a-Largo?

Anyone who complains about UV unwrapping has never weight painted. It's a complete bear to master.

For what 80 percent of people do online, Linux is going to cover them. Some Facebook, Google Docs or an office clone. Social media, even some video editing for content creators.

It's only people who use funky commercial apps or work in commercial pipelines that will struggle.

Disaster? That's AWESOME!!!

For my own use, I'm learning to sculpt in Blender. The big problem with GIMP is that after using PS for 35 years, I'm spending ages googling how to do basic stuff in GIMP.
Two of my colleagues tried moving over and they both decided "It wasn't there yet". which I understand.

I can tailor my workflow for personal projects but clients demand ZBrush files. GIMP is, for most uses, good. It doesn't support CMYK for print and clients and printers need CMYK. I find that doing anything in GIMP takes 4x as long as the UI is basically a middle finger to anyone who uses photoshop.

Democrats get paid by their corporate sponsors. We come way down the list.

I too need windows for work. But my daily driver laptop has mint on it and I'm actively trying to develop new working practices where I have to use windisease as little as possible.

Ironically, games on Linux are pretty good. What we really need is a way to run ZBrush, Maya and Photoshop easily on Linux.
