I remember listening to an NPR interview with Watson (I think it was Science Friday) and he was so fucking sexist and racist that the interviewer called him out on it several times and cut him off.
My mom was a lab tech for Watson & Crick when they did their DNA work. (Mom was a lab tech for two sets of Nobel Prize winners. She rocked). My parents hung out with them in Cambridge for years. (I have a photo of W&C holding me at my christening).

No matter how bad you think Watson was--
I grew up with a scientist educator mom and she made damn sure I knew Rosalind Franklin’s name.

/5 Ezra Kleinism would have me seek mutual values and agreement with the people who brought us to that, and who still support it. I would rather see them burn in Hell.

I always feel bad when I don't like a game that people like. It's a great looking game and I love a walking sim but it's not grabbing me.

My kid likes watching me play this so I'll keep playing it as long as he's watching I guess?

A sport has too many players when one can play for the first time in the playoffs.

My partner and I were riding bikes and he went downhill before me and warned me that there were slippery leaves at the curve at the bottom of the hill. I snapped back, "I've seen drivers ed videos" and then immediately slid and fell and ended up with a huge bruise on my thigh.
not everyone has a guardian angel, but everyone has the opposite of one
in college i brought a few friends to my home town beach. my friends expressed concerns about the man o' war. i yelled "in my whole life swimming here, i've never been stung!" and dove under a wave.

when i stood up, a man o' war had wrapped itself around my hip & the entirety of my leg.

I'm having a lot of fun playing Deliver at all Costs. The story is weird and a car tried to throw me into a volcano while I was throwing it into a volcano.

I keep forgetting I'm not car and can exit car because I've been playing truck games like Roadcraft anyway 10/10

Veronica Mars is a great show and I can't believe I never watched it. I'm only on episode...6 maybe but already there's been a rape handled like I would've, a trans parent accepted, and a same sex kiss that the camera moved away from okay it's still the early 2000s

I had a "fuck the patriarchy" summer and shaved my legs once. I highly recommend it to all who dgaf.

I even went on a (PNW) beach vacation, into several pools in several states and it just did not matter.

I've been doing things for myself lately (showering, 3D printing things I need, buying myself clothes or earbuds or electronics for a project) and it feels really good. Taking care of yourself is good, y'all.

Happy Labor Day!
Protecting workers is in L&I’s DNA—going all the way back to our founding over 100 years ago. It’s even baked into Washington’s State Constitution: Article II, Section 35 directs the legislature to pass laws specifically to protect workers.

- part of the lid of the iced vanilla latte cup
- plastic ice cream tubs
- a chicken salad with ranch
- 3 pounds of apples
- most of the plastic bag containing the apples
- half a hot dog
- dog food
