Had a great time chatting and learning at the Baltimore Ethical Society today. I didn’t know a lot about Corretta Scott King and I’m glad they were able to give a nice introduction from her autobiography. I especially love that members I didn’t meet were very warm and welcoming to me. They even sang

Also, I wanted to share about a book store that didn’t know existed called, Everyone Place. It was a very nice store with a great selection of books, mostly centered on or around African Americans. They had a very talkative cat.

I’ve never been an into poetry, at all, but I went to an open mic night in celebration of Nikki Giovanni. 🎙️

I didn’t know who she was before she passed but I did enjoy the piece I read called, “For Saundra.”
