#ArtAdventCalendar Day 2: the Andean cock-of-the-rock 🪶🌿🐡 one of my favorite things to do on rainy days in Seattle was to head to Woodland Park Zoo’s tropical aviary and just sit for hours photographing the birds. These were some of their most striking residents!

"Winter" (the Japanese title 積雪の葉かげに (Sekisetsu no Hakagei ni) translates as "Sitting Under Snow-covered Leaves"), from the "Birds of the Seasons" series, a woodblock print; ink and colour on paper, self-published in ca. 1980 by Yoshida Tōshi (吉田 遠志, 25 July, 1911 – 1 July, 1995).
