Knitter, reader, writer, mama to both small humans and cats. Biteyfish from Twitter and Ravelry.
Finally finished knitting my Old Friend Pullover. The pattern is wonderfully written and the finished sweater is so cute… and the way the funnel neck folds against my throat will drive me absolutely batshit if I actually try to wear it. (This is 100% a me issue, the sweater itself is great!)

It’s 10:30am and still in the 50s, I am delighted that it finally feels properly like fall

Love when my two year old asks me to read to him and then he shouts “No!” at me because he thinks i got it wrong like buddy, only one of us here knows how to read. Also pretty sure my BA in English more than qualifies me to read you your Halloween Busy Book.

On the home stretch with this one, and just in time for fall weather. It needs about 4” of collar + seaming and we’re done!

Sometimes you force yourself to go on a mental health walk for your stupid mental health and the universe rewards you by crossing your path with baby deer 🥹

For #showmeyourknits I’ve finally picked up the stitches for the sleeves on this after a month and a half of procrastinating. Zipping right along and should be wearing it just in time for fall!

At the point in this pattern where I have to do a three needle bind off. And of course I forgot to bring a third needle with me so I don’t get my dance class waiting room knitting this week 😭

I want to do something interesting with the pocket but am undecided. I could do the pocket in purple, or i could knit an intarsia square of purple onto the front of the sweater to put a black pocket over. Leaning toward option 2 but is the extra effort worth it?

Dora the Explorer has been the real mvp (most valuable parent) here for the past couple of days, but with Covid in the house we do what we must

Nearly back up to where I was. Luckily this yarn is lovely to work with and the pattern is blissfully mindless with miles of plain stockinette so I don’t actually mind reknitting it at all

Officially calling it on nap time. He’s happy now. I could scream.

It’s raining and unseasonably chilly and I am wearing cozy clothes and brewed up the very last of my pumpkin chai intending to do a little writing today. So far Buster has spent his entire nap time screaming for me through the baby monitor so, so much for that i guess 😩

Unearthed this cardigan from the depths of the stash for #showmeyourknits this week. I started it sometime around 2012ish?? No idea what pattern it is, but it’s only missing half a sleeve and I can just copy the finished one. I’m like 90% sure the yarn is Lion Brand Wool-Ease

I have nothing on the needles 😭

Ever have a project that just feels cursed? I’ve had socks on the needles since last July. We’ve had fit issues, gauge issues, multiple miscrossed cables, my complete inability to count. Now halfway through the second one I tried on the first…. And it’s somehow too short

Disaster. The two skeins of yarn are noticeably different, so to the frog pond it goes. Was I aware that this is a danger of hand dyed yarn? Yes. Does the dyer include a warning to alternate skeins right on the label? Also yes. Did I listen? Clearly not. Should i have known better? ABSOLUTELY.

Very grateful for the power being back on. Lucky to have a hobby that doesn’t require electricity, but it turns out that my current project in black yarn wasn’t ideal for knitting by flashlight 😩

Earlier I was debating whether or not to make it an early night. Power is out so I guess that decision is made for me 😩

Trying to note over-spam with information. Mass power outages, trees down, active wires all over the place. Duquesne light estimates 20% of the county has no power. Will take days. Also a tiki boat flipped over on the Mon.
