鳥学会大会でいただいたポスター賞の副賞の、モンベルサンダーパスジャケットを受け取りました！春夏秋3シーズン使えそうで重宝しそうです。ベンチレーションがないのはバンダー的には意外と嬉しいポイント（かすみ網に絡みにくいので）。改めてありがとうございました！

新潟県でガビチョウの捕獲調査に出ていました。無事に捕獲成功。ヒップウェーダーはちょっとした物入れに使えて便利。今年のアラスカでの調査で使っていたものを無理やり持って帰ってきたのですがその甲斐ありました。

Incredible and exciting #shorebird fieldwork in #Utqiagvik, AK! I was amazed by how fast seasons change in #tundra only in a few days (12th, 14th and 17th June for each)

今朝大学で拾ったトビのものと思しき風切羽。多分P1らへん。もう繁殖後の換羽が始まってるのか、カラスか何かにいじめられて抜けたのか。
風切羽くらい大きい羽だと、羽軸に皮膚由来の組織が残ってることが多く、ここからDNAを抽出して解析に使えます。ということでカミソリでこそげてエタノールに入れて保存しました。出番あるといいけど。

4月から学振特別研究員DC2として研究を続けることになりました。引き続き外来鳥類ガビチョウの適応について研究します。

キャンパスバンディングで初めてシメを捕獲！

キャンパスでバンディング。9時から12時までの短時間だったことを考えれば、当地的にはまずまずの個体数。昨年6月にここで標識したヤマガラを再捕獲できた。

明日は暖かくなりそうなので、キャンパスで鳥の標識調査をやってみようということに。あまり寒いうちに捕獲調査をすると鳥の体温が極端に下がるためあまり推奨されない、というのも理由の一つ。
11月の調査で使ったきりの鳥袋を洗ってラボに干してきました。

助成金の報告書を仕上げたので、リフレッシュに蒲生干潟に行ってきました。

雪の中群れで餌を探しているガビチョウ。冬の仙台ではガビチョウは声も姿も目立たない印象ですが、今朝は珍しく鳴きながら動き回っていました。久しぶりに雪が降って行動に何かのスイッチが入ったのかもしれない。
